Every year, Glenndale Airport comes alive in the fall for Glenndale Days our annual BBQ Bash! During the event, we offer rides in our "regular" airplanes, rides in rare WWII airplanes, breakfast, lunch, dinner and much more. To view or print a poster for this year's event, please click here. This is a family event! Come watch airplanes takeoff and land, up close and personal. For the kids we have bouncy moonwalks and inflatables, face painting, balloons, and gift bags! On Saturday at 5PM, the Air Indiana Skydiving Center "drops by" with a parachute jump demonstration. Jumpers carry the American flag from 10,000 feet in the air to the ground in a unique and emotionally moving spectacle.
What many people do NOT know is that Glenndale Days is a charity event. The proceeds of the event go to help children and families suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). When you take a ride in the AT-6 Texan, you're not only getting the thrill of a lifetime. You're also helping children suffering from SMA to breathe, eat, be medicated and monitored, and helping families to communicate and cope. For more information on SMA, or to donate to SMA Support, click here. For pictures from previous Glenndale Days events, click: 2006-2009, 2005, 2004, 2003.
For information on flying in to Glenndale Days, please see our information for pilots page.
We also raffle off various prizes. You can enter the raffle at any time during the event. The drawing takes place at the end of the event, on Sunday evening. Winners do not need to be present to claim their prize. Last year, we raffled off prizes such as a pedal-powered airplane for kids, an hour of time in a KC-135 simulator, free flight time in our aircraft and more!
