Instrument Pilot
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- You must hold at least a Private Pilot Certificate.
- You must be able to read, speak, write and understand English.
- You must receive Instrument ground instruction.
- You must hold a current medical certificate.
- You must pass a written examination with a score of 70% or better.
- You must have logged 40 hours of actual or simulated instrument time of which
- at least 15 hours is instrument flight instruction, including
- one IFR flight of 250 NM along airways or ATC directed routing with approaches at each airport,
- three different kinds of approaches with the use of navigation systems.
- At least 3 hours of instrument training must be accomplished in preparation for the practical test within the 60 days preceding the test.
You must have logged 50 hours of PIC on cross-country flights to airports more than 50 NM from the point of departure (includes student pilot solo cross-country). 10 of these hours must be in an airplane for an instrument airplane rating.
You must successfully complete a flight test.

Cost does not include: Examiner Fees ($400), Medical Fees ($100) or Club Dues ($360/year).
* These hours can be reduced if you already have logged IFR time (hood/actual).
Payment Options
Option #1: Pay as you go by either deposting money on account before or after each flight.
Option #2: Pay an advance payment of any amount and receive an additional 10% credit on your account.
For example if you deposit $7000 you will receive a $700 credit, $1000 will give you a credit of $100.
